Choose the grit level that is right for your needs: 60--course for moderate stripping; ideal for removing old paint, varnish, and clear-coat finishes on wood and metal. 100--medium for surface leveling; ideal for preparing bare wood, metal, and drywall surfaces prior to first coat of finish. 150--medium for surface smoothing; ideal for preparing bare wood, metal, and drywall surfaces prior to first coat of finish. 180--fine for sanding between coats; ideal for preparing freshly coated wood or metal surfaces prior to next coat. Pads measure 4 1/2 inch x 5 1/2 inch x 3/16 inch Recommended for round or highly contoured surfaces. Sponges measure 3 3/4 inch x 2 5/8 inch x 1 inch Recommended for flat or slightly contoured surfaces.
